Yes you can, but to do that, you've got to use the HTML editor, since plain text doesn't support any colours.
When starting a message, you pick the HTML editor with:
Options -> Message Format -> HTML/text or HTML only
this can be pick from the menu of the editor.
This will enable you to use bold and underlining too.

When that's the case, I guess you changed your reply template (account settings) and removed the %Quotes macro. Or you're replying with F4 (quote selected text) without selecting any text.

I cannot write text in 'Bat' in any colour other than black ?  Also it does not appear to 'quote' text when replying to am email ? Also I cannot seem to get any bold or underline in my text messages ?
Any help much appreciated. I have not written to 'support' as I noted from other users the lack of responses when emailing support ! I have used many other email programs, including Eudora and Pegasus, and Thunderbird and Poco, and I thought the 'Bat' would be the best alternative, but if I cannot accomplish the above tasks then its no good ?
