====quote====
> - Add a preference for downloading external images in > HTML email.

this is planned and developers think about it.
=============

Great!

====quote====
> - When an email detected as spam is marked as not
> spam (using Special->Mark as not spam), it should
> be moved from the spam folder to its default folder.
message has no its history where was previously stored
=============
Well, it could be moved to the folder it will be delivered if it were not spam. It is a bit tedious task to manuall move each false detected SPAM message to the folder it should be.

====quote====
> - Store configuration files not in registry but in
> CFG/INI files to allow easyly transportation, and
> USB drives support.
The Bat! Voyager is a new prepared app storing configuration data into INI file
=============
Nice, I thought it was an internet based service for syncing emails read from different locations.

====quote====
> - Webmail support (Hotmail, Yahoo, GMail, ...)
> without third-party Web2POP services.

do not think, this is planned
=============
What a pitty. I do not like FoxHot (from FoxMail) for doing it...
Maybe developers could add a command-line switch for automatically start an external Web2POP program when launching The Bat!, and automatically kill the launched program, when closing The Bat! At least this will be an improvement.

====quote====
> - Support for DSS keys in the internal OpenPGP
> engine.
this is impossible AFAIK, internal engine uses ssleay library, which is not developed yet
=============
Opps, I do not like the need of installing PGP only for it. It is several times bigget than The Bat! itself.
What about distributing The Bat! with a preconfigured GNUPG, able to use the current built-in keymanager?

====quote====
> - Limit the maximum number of TCP/IP connections to
> use at the same time. Maybe bandwitch trotling
> will be also interesting.
You can use Netlimiter for example, I do not think, email app should have such things
=============
Currentlly I have 23 different email accounts, and when checking all of them at the same time, my router notes it. I have read in this forum the prime numbers check timeout trick, but this is a bit tedious. What about implementing a preference for Maximum number of accounts to check? If set to ie, 3, the first 3 accounts will be updated, then in the next timeout, next 3, and so on. I think this will make thinks easier for users.
I think so:

- Add a preference for downloading external images in > HTML email.

- Add "Backup configuration datas", dumping all the configuration settings for everything, from filtering office to view modes to a file.

These two are the only missing one for me: it's a beautiful mail client btw! it roxx!

Some suggestions New features useful in The Bat! in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Nowadays The Bat! is IMHO the best file manager. Believe me, I have tryed Eudora, FoxMail, Outlook Express, Outlook, Thunderbird, Seamonkey, Opera, PocoMail, ...

The Bat! is userful, fast, and powerful. But as all things, it can be improved.

Here are some suggestions I have found, while testing it. Hope they will serve the developers, for making an even better tool.

- Default buttons in dialogs (ENTER for OK/Accept, and ESC for Cancel/Close).
- Add a preference for downloading external images in HTML email.
- Remember state of the selected folder's tabs (All, Unread, Virtual, ...) across sessions.
- When an email detected as spam is marked as not spam (using Special->Mark as not spam), it should be moved from the spam folder to its default folder. This is the same as marking a not spam email as spam (it gets moved to the spam folder).
- Store configuration files not in registry but in CFG/INI files to allow easyly transportation, and USB drives support.
- Webmail support (Hotmail, Yahoo, GMail, ...) without third-party Web2POP services.
- Support for DSS keys in the internal OpenPGP engine.
- Limit the maximum number of TCP/IP connections to use at the same time. Maybe bandwitch trotling will be also interesting.
- Add support for selecting more than one account at the same time for editing its properties.
- Ability to choose JPG default compression level for clipboard pasted images. Support also PNG/GIF if better file size is obtained (look at PNGOUT PNG image optimization tool!).
