Disable the autofill for the subject:
Options->Preferences->Message headers->Subject->Edit->'Editing' tab -> unselect 'Track history of this field'

I notice that if, for example, I place the following in the subject line of an e-mail:

Testing Filters

If I then ever try to place just:

Testing

in the subject line of a subsequent e-mail, The Bat! will automatically complete it to:

Testing Filters

and nothing I do will delete the word "Filters".

Does anyone know a way around this?
