Thanks for your reply.

I realize, by now, that it's not a problem with TheBat.
Yeh, I've tried creating a new account and it still doesn't work; I'll get by.
In that case the only thing I can suggest is to create a new account. Your other pop accounts are still functioning, so it isn't likely that it's TB that is corrupt.
As I said, create a new account.
Try whether that works.
When it works, exit TB and copy the account.cfn file from the directory of your new account to the directory of your old account, restart TB and see whether your old account will work. Tha would mean you won't loose your old filters and messages, only your old account temlates.

When you're using an older version of TB (v1 or v2) you should copy the account.cfg file as that was what those versions used.
No, I tried that and with everything I change it to and back to I still get the same message. I even tried deleting and reinstalling TheBat. This happened to me about a year ago and I took the drastic measure of reinstalling Windows (clean) before it worked again. I must have got a virus that changed something and McAfee didn't catch it.
'Unable to access server' means just that, TB can't access it. When OE is able to access the account then something might be gone corrupt in your account settings. What are the results when you change the server properties to something else, save the account properties, change the settings back and save it again?

For years I have been using TheBat to access my college email account. Last weekend, I was unable to access it. I keep getting "Unable to access server" error notices, even though I haven't made any changes whatsoever.

The college hasn't made any changes or inadvertently locked me out of the system; I checked on that. In fact, I'm able to access my account using Outlook Express on the Web.

All my other pop accounts are working fine. Any ideas? McAfee shows no viruses and Spybot shows no spyware.
There must be a file that I need or one that I shouldn't have that is causing the problem.
