Hmmm. I see that the IMG button does not do what I expected. Is there a way of editing/repairing/deleting your own posts on this board?

The best way to describe this is by example. The following three images show what happens.

First type some HTML text..

Then copy and paste some additional text..

Aaaargh! (you can't undo with Ctrl-Z)
