Roelof,

That worked a treat thanks. I found the old directories, created the same in the new copy of TB and imported the message files.

Nice one thanks

Cheers
LM
Yes, new folders will be encrypted. But with an encrypted database the Ctrl-Alt-Shift-L key combo won't work.

Apart from that, folders that aren't recognized in your setup, won't be included in your backup, so you can't restore them either. Basically this means that you won't have them on disk (on your laptop).

When you've still got a copy of those folders, you can transfer them to your laptop (or access them via your LAN) and import them via:
Tools -> Import messages -> TB message base v2

Roelof,

I will look. Further complicating things just moved the data to a new Laptop.

So backed up old TB (ver 3 upgraded from ver 2) Installed new TB3 to new Laptop with the encryption pw etc and restored the old backup.

Won't the new folders all be encrypted etc ?

Cheers
LM
Do the folders still exist as directories on your disk? If so, create a new one, drop the messages.tbb and .tbi files from the old folder in the new one (preferrably when TB is shut down) and see whether that helps.
Hi There,

Just upgraded a working copy of TB 2.x to 3.x.
All seemed to work fine, by installing over the top except certain folders and their contents have vanished.
I tried the Ctrl+Alt+Shift+L trick - no difference.

Any ideas ?

Cheers
LM
