How to Filter?

How to Filter? in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
When you create the new filter, select EDIT, remove the default action which is to file the message into a particular folder, and then ADD an action to delete the message. That should do the trick.

Regards, John M
Thanks, John. I did not have that option on my toolbar, but I did as you suggested.

However, I have used that routine before using "Delete the message from server" and the incoming mail still shows up in the mailbox..then I have to delete it. I would like for the program to have the message deleted before it shows up...so I won't ever know it has been sent.

Am I not putting the right criteria in the "Actions" area?

Thanks.
Create a button that will pop up a Create Filter based on the message being viewed. See this post.. <noindex>http://tinyurl.com/qngsn</noindex> ..for how to do that. You can then easily generate a filter for this specific case.

Regards, John M

How to Filter?

How to Filter? in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
I was using another e-mail program and I switched to TheBat!. The problem is that I am unable to figure out how to use the filtering.

For example, there is a certain spammer who sends me e-mail nearly every day. I have tried every way I know to filter this crap out, but to no avail.

Let's say the spammer is csr@widget.com and my e-mail address is mymail@isp.com. What is the simplest and most effective way to filter this e-mail so it will be deleted BEFORE it gets to my mailbox? I don't even want to see it.

Thanks.
