It has been fixed in later versions. I am on 5.2.1 and it works correctly
Why can't you check the local date/time (instead of GMT, if that is the cause) or change it to say "tomorrow" instead of today?
I can't remember being able to a number of days before the birthday. The only options that come to mind are enabling the reminder:
Options -> Preferences -> System -> Enable birthday reminder.....
and setting the actual date in the 'personal' tab of your contacts'address book entry
I have the same trouble. I remember in an old version of the bat! There was an option where you can authorize the bat! to remind you the birthdays of your contacts. You were able to set how much day before the birthday of the contact you want The Bat! to remind you the birthday.

But i can't find this option anymore, ans so i can't stop the birthday reminder i set up a long time ago !

Emma.
I am sorry for my english...
Well, maybe it has no priority or maybe it's more difficult than you think. I don't know.
That's a known issue for people in a time zone that reads GMT -xxxx. Somehow TB isn't able to process that correctly. For people living east of London (UK) there's no problem.
The only people I've heard mentioning it are living in the Americas.
Here's something very minor, not sure if it's even worth reporting as a bug.

I have family members listed in address book. I also have their birthdays listed in the personal tab of the address book entry. I have a family member with a birthday of April 17th. Today (April 16th) when I opened The Bat, I got a message saying that someone had a birthday today and asked if I wanted to send a greeting.

So, for some reason, The Bat is one day early. I can understand if the reminder said that the birthday was tomorrow but it didn't.
