As an add on, this is not the place for feature requests:

You can insert wishes in the wish list, by logging in to:
https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/main_page.php
Choose 'The Bat! wishes' and add a new item.
First check whether someone has made the same wish, then you can
support that wish.
Wishes that are supported by more users are more likely to be granted
than wishes by one. And the system isn't smart enough to understand
that wishes might be the same.
And add just one wish per entry. Makes everything easier, both for
other users who want to add support and for the developers.

With version 3.80.3 (the latest release) that I'm using, that is possible, right click on trash, select properties and you can set the options you want on the general and the additional tabs.
I guess you've got to uncheck the option at the account properties.
As I don't care about delayed deletion, I'm not sure how long this has been possible with trash, but I know it has been there forever for the other folders.

I don't know whether this is the right place for a feature request.  If not, please redirect me.

I would like to see delayed automatic trash emptying.  Currently, you can automatically empty the trash on closing The Bat!.  Better would be to set a number of days (say, n) where TB automatically deletes mail older than n days from the trash.  Deleting mail from the server works this way; I'd like to see deleting mail from the trash work this way too.
