I can't help you there. I'm just a one account person.
You misunderstand me. This isn't an issue with opening and closing the program. I have the program open at all times.
The issue is, when I have finished reading my mail, I select the top level of one of the accounts so that the preview windows show "No message loaded", and the email list is empty.

However, when new email is downloaded via the auto retrieve every 5 minutes, it jumps to whichever email account recieved the email, and displays the email list for that account, along with whichever email was last selected in that account.
I don't want it doing this.

When new emails arrive, I want it to remain in the display I left it - displaying no email list, and no emails.

Jason.
TB will open the account and folder that you had open when you closed it.
However, you can set the focus parameter to set the account/folder you won't it to open on starting. Change the target from the shortcut you use to open TB from: "C:\Program Files\The Bat!\thebat.exe" to:
"C:\Program Files\The Bat!\thebat.exe" "/FocusF=\\MyAccount\Inbox"
Teach your family members to start TB with this shortcut and you're done.

Open inbox when new mail arrives in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Hi

I'm currently evaluating The Bat! and love it so far. However, I have one annoyance.

I have many email accounts being serviced by the software at the moment.
Currently, when new mail arrives, the program seems to randomly open one of the inboxes automatically.
Sometimes I'll maximise the program only to see that it's currently displaying all the emails from one of my mailboxes.

Is there any way to stop this? As I work from home and also share the program with family, I'd rather not have my business emails open for them to see when they come to check their emails.

I've had a look through the preferences, and also help files and forum, but can't seem to find a way to prevent this. I know I can set a password, but that's not the most ideal solution.

Thanks,
Jason.
