And just in case you haven't closed TB (or when you don't make TB compress its messagebase on exit (even though that is recommended)) you can select your inbox and pick from the menu:
Folder -> Browse deleted messages
And you'll see the messages you deleted.

Some of my e-mails are being deleted, probably because of my filter tweaking.  Is there a log file that shows what e-mails have been deleted or what has transpired during a session?
