This is a user to user support form, so the people reading this aren't the ones to fix your problem. See the bottom of this message on how to report bugs to the bug list.

Normally I'm using 'automatic checking' with the MicroEd editor and I don't encounter any of the problems both of you are describing, nor do I see them after switching to the Windows editor. So please be more specific about your settings, so I can try to reproduce.

You can insert bugs in the bugtracker, by logging in to:
<noindex>https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/main_page.php</noindex>
Choose 'The Bat' and add a new item.
First check whether someone has reported the same bug, then you can
add a note to that bug.
Bugs that are reported by more users are more likely to get attention
than bugs by one. And the system isn't smart enough to understand
that bugs might be the same.
And add just one bug per entry. Makes everything easier, both for
other users who want to add a note and for the developers.
Is anyone doing anything about this? It's getting to be a real pain. I now discover that, if I choose 'Add' to get TB to add a new word to the user.dic, then it stops spell-checking from that point and just sends the message without checking the rest. These problems with the spell-checker are stopping me from specifying TB as a replacement email client at my place of work and I wouldn't be surprised if it was stopping others too.

Come on, guys - The Bat's a great product - don't let this glitch spoil it!
Have downloaded v3.85.03 and these problems are still there, quoted text is checked and words not highlighted.
Which makes the spellchecker unusable, at least for me.
If it's of any interest, I get this too (Bat 3.80.06) I didn't get it before I upgraded. Also, it doesn't correct all erors. If I spell 'the' as 'teh' - which I do a lot - it only alters the first mistake even if I chose 'Change All'
I'm having some problems with the spellchecker for the Plain text (Windows) editor:

-Quoted text is spellchecked.
-Misspelled words are not marked (highlighted) in the text when found.

Seems like obvious bugs, but since I haven't found any other complaints I guess it must have something to do with my setup....??
