Authorization and certificates

Authorization and certificates in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
From my testing it looks unlikely. I had this setup on a postfix mail server, and only Thunderbird and Opera tried to authenticate with tls client auth. Outlook 2003 and The Bat! did not. (Opera, however, does not support S/MIME, which is weird.)
It's in TB posibility to authorizate client throght certificate. FE you have certificate on serwer and on local install and when serwer prompt user/password operation goes trogh certificates private/public. Postfix has such mechanism.

Second question: maybe it is possible to verify client/serwer TLS connection throgh certyficates? Description: <noindex>http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4346</noindex>
7.4.4. Certificate request
7.4.6. Client certificate
