Euro symbol how to correctly display it in messages? in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Mmm...I'm afraid the options you refer to are only for composing new messages...
I mean, if I write (for istance) the euro symbol, TheBat! automatically chooses the right character set in order to send it displayed properly.
Maybe If I receive a messagge with a certain character set I can't do much with TheBat!
That's what I think but I hope to make a mistake
If anyone could help...thanks
You should be able to alter the character sets that TB uses, but I've never done that, so I can't really advise you in this:
Options -> Preferences -> Other options -> Chracter sets

====quote====
you'll need to post the subject line of one of the problem messages to the forum, so somebody (not necessarily me) can have a look at it.
=============

Here it is the subject line from one sender which doesn't show correctly the euro currency symbol:

Subject: =?iso-8859-1?Q?Pack_100_Foto_11x15:_12_=80_invece_di_22_=80._20%?=        =?iso-8859-1?Q?_di_sconto_su_tutti_i_prodotti_foto.?=

This other one instead is from another recipient where the symbol is correctly displayed:

Subject: =?utf-8?Q?simbolo_euro_=E2=82=AC_15=2C00?=

It seems only the utf-8 character set shows the euro symbol properly.
iso-8859-1 doesn't.
Is there any way to setup TheBat! to do a "magic" ?

I have latest version of TheBat! + WinXP SP2

If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Bye

Euro symbol how to correctly display it in messages? in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
The euro sign isn't a proper ascii character, so it has to be encoded. The subject header should look something like:
Subject: =?iso-8859-15?Q?=A4=A4=A4=A4?=
In order to pinpoint the problem you'll need to post the subject line of one of the problem messages to the forum, so somebody (not necessarily me) can have a look at it.
From your message I take it that you are also receiving messages where the euro sign is displayed properly.
What version of TB are you using and what's your OS?

BTW Please post the full subject header, as it is shown when you view the message with F9.
I live in Europe.
Sometimes I receive messages where in the subject line the euro symbol is not correctly displayed: there's an empty rectangle.
Is it a problem of the sender's character set or there is something I can set up in The Bat! to display it correctly?
many thanks
