I have the same problem:

Access violation at address 7xxxxxx in module 'ntdll.dll'. Read of address xxxxxx

It appears when I try to search in my LDAP (configured by myself) directory. Then I could not close the dialog of searching and I must kill whole THE BAT!

I tried version 3.60Pro and 3.71.01Pro with the same result.

Didn't help. Problem still there.

In that case you shouldn't get any AVs, that's a pretty stable release.
Did you try to install it again or to repair the installation?
Just delete thebat.exe and via:
Start -> Configuration screen -> Software -> The Bat! -> Repair

Get VERY OFTEN the error message:
Access violation at address XXXXXXXX. Read of address XXXXXXXX

(addresses vary)

When?
Deleting a 'open' message
After sending an e-mail
Pasting text in a message
etc etc.

It applies to all my accounts.
Tried maintenance centre many times.

Nothing helps.

Please advice how to solve this nasty problem
