Actually, you didn't buy the BayesIt plugin, it wasn't a Ritlabs product, but a freeware product that was included with the installation file of The Bat!
Because BayesIt is no longer supported by its author, Ritlabs decided to take it out of the installation files, as they no longer could recommend it.
Unfortunately because the way that .msi files work (.msi files are a Microsoft standard) they uninstall everything that isn't included anymore.
In order to fix this, you can either install BayesIt separately (that's why I posted the link) or choose another antispam product.
The choice is up to you, if you were satisfied with  BayesIt's functioning then there's no reason to switch to something else.

Sorry guys, if I don't understand all this. The only thing I understood but had found out so myself the plug- in for Bayesit doesn't work.
So I bought something that doesn't work anymore?
How is that?
Any advice?

Hi, I'm the developer of AntispamSniper.

IMAP support is planned for the nearest versions of AntispamSniper plug-in (2.x). TheBat doesn't allow the plug-ins to filter IMAP, but this issue is solvable when there are people who need that feature TODO list also includes classification of the attached images, regular automatic updates for the classification database and of course further improvements of the statistical content filtering methods.

Yes, but you still need to download the messages to your pc via your client in order to read them don't you? Not everyone uses IMAP in the exact same way. I have IMAP accounts but mainly use one PC to read my email from. There are several times a year when I travel that I'd like to access my accounts. My IMAP server does have it's own anti spam setup but sometimes it misses things.

'To be honest it seems a bit odd to me to want to use a client side spam filter when you're using IMAP. The whole idea of IMAP is to process and store your messages on the server side. IMO it wouldn't make sense to have your client download all messages in order to decide whether they're spam then sort them into their appropriate folders (server side) and then download them again when you want to read them while browsing the proper folder.

A halfway decent IMAP provider should provide server side filtering (including but not limited to anti-spam and anti-virus filtering)
It would be rather silly when using IMAP that you'd need to configure the same anti-spam, anti-virus and other filter rules on every system from where you wanted to access the message base would it?
Limited client side filtering is no fault with IMAP it is as intended.

Yes, it will. And so will all other TB releases in the future. That's the way .msi files work. When something is installed via a .msi and the next vesrion of that program doesn't include that file, it'll be deleted.

However, when you install 3.96.06 and afterwards you install the BayesIt msi, it won't be uninstalled again. (Unless you choose to do so yourself.)

Personally I think Ritlabs should never have included the BayesIt plugin in the first place, but that's me.

I don 't know who you mean with 'You guys', it's in a reply to me, so I feel addressed and I kind of resent that as I've got nothing to do with Ritlabs apart from using their software, as I've stated before on this forum.
You aren't required to remove BayesIt. It's working fine on numerous computers, but it's also causing problems on a lot. That's why Ritlabs stopped including it in the release.
AFAIK BayesIt is not officially discontinued, but it never was an official Ritlabs product, merely something that was included for free. And I haven't seen any new releases from the author for quite some time.

The BayesIt plugin is no longer part of the msi-file that's used to distribute The Bat!
Development of the plugin has stopped for quite some time and too many support issues had the solution 'Disable BayesIt', that's what caused Ritlabs to exclude it.
You still can download BayesIt separately from the Ritlabs site: http://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/bayesit/bayesit.msi

Hi, after installing Xmas edition, my BayesIt plugin no longer seems to work.

Pressing J to autojunk a message results in the error 'No plugins are configured with learning abilities'. Quite an odd error, but the email does appear to get junked.

Going into Option -> Plugins, The Bat doesnt seem to recognise BayesIt anymore, and lists it simply as 'Generic Plugin'

Any advice appreciated
