Is your message base just as big as in Eudora? In that case you probably didn't check all options in for the backup.

My backup for a 2 GB message base is about 1 GB, not quite the compression rate you are suggesting.

The backup archive is much smaller than it was for Eudora.  Is something missing.  With Eudora it was 79 MB and with The Bat! it's 88 kb!  Something must be wrong.
