By the way, you are extremely lucky to have 2GB in your inbox and not lose emails. That is a testament to how well TheBat is written. Any other email client, and you'd have lost them all a long time ago.

Golden rule for all current email clients:
'Do not use inbox for storing email; use filters to move them to other folders'.
Thank you! Actually I already tried this option - purge and compress, but I tried it only on the main folder. All I got was a pop-up telling me there is no deleted messages and thus my inbox wasn't necessary to compress. But than I tried to purge and compress every sub-folder seperatly, which gave me desired results.

Again, thank you for your quick answer.
On some file systems 2 GB is a hard limit. Furthermore big files with lots writing actions are easily corrupted.

That your inbox didn't decrease in size is because TB doesn't really delete messages, but marks them as deleted. (TB isn't alone in that, almost every mailclient and database application does the same.)
To really remove the messages you need to compress the message base, that's an action you can do manually with TB or automated on exit or via the scheduler. When you do this on exit, you can set to compress all folders (in the account settings) or only specific folders (in the folder properties)

I suggest to do this on exit for all folders:
account -> properties -> options -> compress all folders on exit.

I also advise to do it the first time manually:
Select the inbox and via the menu choose:
Folder -> Purge + Compress
This way you'll get a pop-up that shows you how much space you recovered.

I ran on an issue regarding space. I got an error saying my inbox is about to reach 2Gb (and I don't know why this should be a problem) and that I should distribute the messages to various folders and compress them. And so I did! But even though I copied them, the capacity of my inbox didn't decrease - it stayed the same. Furthermore the capacity of newly made folder increased for the amount of copied messages. How can I solve this problem?
