I use Achim's Bayesit filter 1.5.6

<noindex>http://www.lkcc.org:8500/index.php</noindex>

Works very nice, btw never had the bat crash on me, very reliable.

Also, if your email client (any email client) does not complete downloading of ALL email, when you get your email again, it will seem to download duplicates, this is because when it sends you all of your mail, it's like receiving ONE big file, and if the process gets interrupted it starts over again. No email client I have ever seen in my 6 year (and counting) tech support resume where you left off. So duplication due to download failure IE the bat crashing is NORMAL.. the bat crashing of course is not.

Gluck.. and try that filter you'll like it.. they even have an UPDATE.EXE for it to check for updates.

It shouldn't do that, but anyhow try this:
Close TB and empty the BayesIt directory
Default is C:\Program Files\The Bat!\BayesIt
How do I turn the BayesIt filter off? When I try to delete it from the plugins, The Bat! freezes and will not do anything.

Hi

I believe that I have now fixed the problem.
I noted that the problem also occured if I marked any email as junk so I went down the path of the bayesian filter. I also found that you could not set up blacklist rules for the B filter. They just would not stay.
In the setup for the B filter, ther is a path pointed to that does not exist. If you either create that path, or point to an existing path, he problem goes away.

Go to options, preferences, plugins, BayesIt!, configure, options and make sure that the paths point to existing directories.

Best regards,
Mark.
Not as such, no, but there are alternative Bayes filter plugins available. I use Achim Winkler's BayesFilter here and it works well for me.
In that case I've heard rumours that it might be caused by the BayesIt plug-in, try disdabling that.
Hi
I have just upgraded from version 2.12 of The Bat and I now find that frequently when I open The Bat, it opens and gets partway through downloading the emails, then shuts down. The next time I try to start, it does the same only quicker. - just cna not get it to start reliably, yet version 2.12 was solid as a rock.
When is crashes, it downloads some of the emails, but does not delete them from the server. When I eventually get it open I will have many duplicates of the email.

Operating system : Win2K latest updates
Processor : AMD 2.2Gb
Ram : 1Gb

Any clues?
