Opera v9.10 (and, actually, any version of thereof) works just fine.

If you have several accounts in the Bat! a pop-up will appear asking you which one to use to compose a message.

I use Opera since the v3.62, the Bat! since v1.35 and never had any quirks among them.
(I never used IE/OE at all)

Or with other words: How does TB work as default mail client in Opera 9.10 ?
