You'd beed to provide more details for a more detailed answer, but here you go:

Account - Properties - Transport - Send Mail - Authentication

Here you can pick several kinds of authentication, most common is 'Perform SMTP Authentication' with 'Use settings of Mail Retrieval'

When this doesn't work, you need to be more specific.

I have to configure a new POP3/SMTP account. But my provider says that "authentication is required" for sending mail.

I've tried all different configurations but none of them seems to work.

Does TB support this kind of authentication? if so, How?
