Authentication issue slows down mail sending in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Hi,

I have excatly the same situation as above. My smtp server rejects the CRAM-MD5 authentication and causes up to a 20 second delay when sending. Is there a solution to this?

Thanks

Authentication issue slows down mail sending in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Hi,

for one of my accounts, there is a significant delay before TB starts to send mail - quite often more than 30 sec. For other accounts it's a couple of seconds.
Here is what appears in the account log
=========
sending mail messages - 1 messages in queue
connected to SMTP server
authenticating (software CRAM-MD5)...
Server reports error. The response is: authentication failed (#5.7.1)
authenticating (plain)...
sending message to... [msg goes OK]
=========

SMTP connection is set to Regular, as for most other accounts.
It looks like TB first tries some sort of authentication not supported by the server, and then tries another ('plain') which succeeds.
What should I change to make it use plain auth. directly, and isn't 'plain' the same as 'regular' ?

Thanks
