> but that will delete/alter almost all headers in
> the original message, like Date: Message-Id: and
> the Received: headers

Ah, thanks for the heads-up; I hadn't noticed that.

Antifreeze's procedure works fine, but that will delete/alter almost all headers in the original message, like Date: Message-Id: and the Received: headers.

In order to change the subject and nothing more, you need to export the message .eml or even better to unix msg base, edit the subject with a text editor and import the altered message again.
The difference between exporting to .eml (or .msg which is the same) and unix msgbase is that the latter will remember the date/time that the message was received by TB and that the received date for the .eml is the moment the altered .eml was imported again.

At the moment I posted my original reply I was rather short in time, so I kept from telling everything.

In the macro library on the faq you will find a manual filter that takes care of the importing, exporting and the starting of the text editor:
<noindex>http://cgi.silverstones.com/library.php?category=Filter#mssg__header_editor</noindex>
HAHAHA
That works perfectly. It is a bit convoluted and Roelf is right, it is not a feature but ...
Yes you can change the subject line as you posted

Roelof knows a lot more about it than me, but I thought it could be changed simply by moving it to your outbox, editing it, and moving back to your inbox or archive folder?

I can't check just now, because I'm at work and don't have access to the Bat. I'm fairly sure I've done that before though.

Hello,

Just moved over from Pocomail, and there is a feature in Pocomail (And Outlook - which I use at work) whereby you can edit the subject line of received emails. It's some time useful to do that when you want to save an email with a subject line of your choosing.

I have had a good look around The Bat Professional v3.99.3 but can see no way of editing the Subject line. Am I missing something, or TB cannot do this?

Many thanks.
