It depends on whether you have the recepient's certificate.
If you do - you may ask the Bat! to encrypt your letter to him.
This is the S/MIME functionality, which is available "out of the box" in the Bat!

I have used the bat for a couple years now, and am wondering about email encryption- does the bat encrypt outgoing email as it sends it, or is a third party tool such as pgp required for this? thanks in advance.
