In the time it took you to wait I could have imported your mail database a trillion time. You were told how to do it without trouble you just don't seem to want to put a little effort into it. What is your trouble with the steps in the second reply? The effort because you have to many folders? Well, switching clients is not always painless... Again, you could have done that a trillion times since July last year...
it's forbidden to express a true opinion in a user to user forum ? I like to be true , sorry for that.
You no ?

or do you prefer this way

"Thank you for your great help , today I will order it and I will convert all the email , thank you thank you." ?

Nothing against you and against Roelof Otten .

IMHO my idea is that Ritlabs should promptly reply to his clients in this forum , otherwise close the forum is not useful, I can get user to user discussion in other 100000000 forums on the web. If I am here is because I wish to have also a reply from someone at Ritlabs.

Bye

So please read carefully and don't react on things that haven't been said.

Actually, folks from Ritlabs do read this forum, sometimes they even post here. However they've never discussed with me whether they intend to expand the number of clients supported by the import wizard, so I don't know.

migrating from Thunderbird 2 in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
1) IIRC Thunderbird is using the unix mailbox format. The Bat! can import that, albeit that it has to import one folder at a time.

2) With The Bat! you need to compress your message base, yes. It has no problem to do so.
All mail clients need to compress their message base. This is because when you store lots of messages in one file, the fastest way to delete a message is to mark it as deleted. Compressing is merely creatiung a new message base without the deleted messages.
The only way to prevent the necessity of compressing is to store every message as a single file. This slows the access to indivual messages considerably.

3) The idea is that you get a personal license, to be used by you. You can install it on multiple pc's, as long as you don't use more copies simultaneously.

4) I don't know when v4 will be published. Tradition has it that there's a reduced upgrade fee for existing users. There have been exceptions with free upgrades for users who bought TB the day before a new version, but that isn't something to count on.

5) IIRC There's a plugin for NOD32, but I'm not absolutely sure about that.
Hello

I wish to try thebat pro because I am having problems with TH especially with email compression . I have no end problems with email compression on TH .

please I wish to know

1) how to convert/import all my email accounts and how to import all my email messages and folders ( A LOT !) from TH to the Bat !. I tried thebat and I have seen no way to import using the import wizard !
Can you suggest a free software to import all ?

2) thebat has problems with compressing email too ?
I have a lot of email folders and email !

3) I will use thebat on my pc , and during the travel on notebook. Will I need 2 licenses or it's enough 1 license ?

4) Is it better to wait thebat 4 or I can order now 3.99 and receive 4 for free ?

5) can thebat work fine with NOD32 to detect email virus ?

Thanks
Graziano
