You have given your new group the property "Hide items if not explicitly selected". What you are describing is simply what happens when you add any address to such a group. Just turn off that option and the Address Book will work as expected.

Hi all,

I am trying to set up an email-distribution group,
under my Personal Address Book, consisting of a bunch
of friends from there.

However, when I edit an address record and change the
group to my newly created group, the record disappears
from the personal address book.

It was different in the version 1.6x. I did not
have to lose the original records from the personal
address book.

I have other groups coming from 1.6x times, and I
can still see the same records from both PAB and the
group listing. Is it inconsistent now with the 3.01?

What is the new way of creating groups?

All I want is to create just symbolic links to my
records in my PAB...
