Thank you Bigg one!

I had completely de-installed the bat (including all registry keys) many times before, but always re-installed the same version. I managed to get v3.85.03 as you suggested, and guess what? It works! (Still don't have my settings, but I can live with that).
I shall live with v3.85, and don't want to know about future upgrades!

My question now is, why did it happen? And, more important, how can I avoid it happening again.

Thanks again my friend. Lifesaver!!!
there was a similar post recently, so it could be a problem in the last version(s).

First backup your whole mail folder.
Start thebat, select an account and press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+L - this is supposed to force the program to show the missing folders.
If this has no effect, I would suggest to uninstall theBat, and then delete the registry info related to it (search for keys named 'RIT' and delete entire keys).
Then find and install an older version of theBat, and point it to use the existing mail folder - hopefully all should work now.
Search this forum, there was a post some time ago discussing where to find old versions. I myself still use v3.85.03 and would recommend it as very stable.

Can anybody help? I've been testing the bat for a week. Having finally worked out how to import my messages from Thunderbird, I had everything set up and all was working well.
Today I started the prog and all I have left are my three pop3 accounts (with inboxes still intact). All of my settings (views, columns, filters, etc) have gone along with my (fairly) extensive folder tree.

I can see the folders on disk and the file sizes seem to be correct and tbb files opened in notepad all contain my messages...

How can I get Bat to recognise them again? I've de-installed and re-installed, but to no avail. I'd also like to have my settings back!

Ritlabs customer help is next to useless - unless I'm telling them how great it all is, they just seem to ignore me.

Please help someone!

Stephen
