Folders reset to 0 messages

Folders reset to 0 messages Questions?? in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
I copied my wife's account folder/subfolders onto my disk. I then directed The Bat to create a new account and pointed to the directory with her folders. So, I had my accounts (+) the new account pointing to her folders. Everything looked OK until I deleted her account and subsequently her folders. At that point, many of my account folders were reset to zero messages. My account and folders were present and there appeared to be no corruption, but there were no messages appearing in my mail program.

I know that this is bit complicated so it may not be worth pursuing. I am just curious about what might have happened and how to correct such situations.

Thanks!
Changed the mail folder to point to the mail folder of another installation? Or of another Windows user (have no idea how theBat works in a multi-user environment)

Is the count restored when a new message appears in the folder?
This morning, I was messing around with The Bat!. Basically, I used MY program to open my wife's account files. Somehow, many of my folders lost their message count. The TBB and TBI files were present, but the message count was 0. I tried recreating the account but the message count remained at 0. I was able to restore my account using a daily backup from yesterday.

I am looking to better understand what might have happened to cause this "problem" and more importanly, what file/files were corrupted.

Thanks,

Ron
