can't see any drawback.
Maybe this way the program will perform slower some operations, compared to the case when messages are in one real common folder. For example to generate a view of the virtual folder or to search in it, it should open not one but several message bases, eventually apply extra filters etc.
But that's just my speculation.

Happy new year to all!
I wound up just using virtual folders. This way, it keeps everything with the specific account, but I only need to look at one place for the emails.

Is there a drawback to going this method as opposed to the common folder I was trying before??

folders outside any account can have their own reply templates - right click the folder and select Properties, and you can modify it. It now probably contains only %BLANK, but you can adjust it as needed (see the reply template for some account as an example, copy what's needed to the other template and delete %BLANK from it)

For sorting sent messages you can set a filter for outgoing mail, for condition you may use
Source Folder is your_common_folder
and for action
move to folder \\jim\Sent Mail
This way any reply to a message in the common folder will go to \\jim\Sent Mail

bigg one

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, that did not completely help me out. The folder I have is set outside of any account. While changing the reply template does make the reply seem as though it is sent from the original email address, nothing else about the reply is attached to that original email address. The link you supplied assumes that the messages I had all came into the same account but not the same email address (server side forwarding). This is not my case. I have seperate accounts on TB for the email. I just have TB automatically move things to various folders to keep similar things together.

I have both the jim@refcloset.com and info@refcloset.com accounts set in TB. The jim@ gets sorted to move the message to the refcloset folder (which is NOT under any account). Any reply or anything else is always done from the info@ account information. The sent message gets put in the info@ sent folder. How do I get TB to put that sent message in the jim@ sent folder?
this is normal, theBat uses the From address specified in the settings of the account to which the folder belongs.

Check this recent thread for a solution
<noindex>Automatically Use FROM Address Upon Replying</noindex>

Sorted messages not replying from sent to address in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
OK, I'm trying out TB and since I am not fond of keeping an inbox for each email address, I have set up a fold to have messages from 2 or 3 different email addresses moved to that folder. This works fine.

However, if I try to reply to an email in that folder, TB uses a different "From" address than what it should.

Example:

An email is sent to jim@refcloset.com and gets sorted into the refcloset folder. When i try to reply to the email, TB always selects info@refcloset.com as the send from account/email instead of jim@....

If I do not sort the messages, and have the email just go to the regular inbox, TB will use the proper from account/email when replying.

Any suggestions/help??

Thanks in advance.

-Jim
