you should un-check the box
"Check that TheBat! is the default......."
in the same place that Roelof pointed.
Then if you set another default app to handle .eml, .vcf etc., theBat shouldn't (at least in theory) ask you anymore whether to restore associations.

 Thanks for that reply. THat is where you can associate them. IN my case i do NOT Want to assciate them with bat - but I'd like the bat's reminders to stop. EVentually someone way smarter than I will advise.

Options -> Preferences -> Applications
That's where you can set them.

Would someone please tell me if it is possible to stop the bat from asking if i want to associate it with .vcf. msg and eml upon startup and if it is possible how to accomplish this.

I have to keep outlook active since i use activesync for my Axim pda. When i reset the items above, they somehow end up causing my system not to sync properly.
