Here's how I have Gmail set up in the Bat and it's working fine:

SMTP settings:
SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
Connection: Secure to regular port (STARTTLS)
Port: 587
Authentication: checked box next to "Perform SMTP authentication" - also checked "Same user/password as for mail retrieval" - nothing else is checked

make sure you are using the "smtp.gmail.com" for sending, you should be using port 465 and in the authentication menu have "perform SMTP authentication but DON'T check "require secure ..."

version 4.0.14 can't send mail from gmail
I can recaive mail all right, but when I want to send mail I get this msg in log: "SEND - Server reports error. The response is: 5.5.1 Authentication Required b23sm11103481ugd.10"

Mind you, I copied all configurations from the old ThBat! on my old laptop and checked it all a few times, I just do not understand whats wrong with the new version.
