I FIXED IT!
I uninstalled The Bat!, ran a registery cleaner, reinstalled The Bat! without using the previous settings options and it started to work just fine.

I think I'm falling in love!

Thanks, but I did that.  I just went through it again and the settings I placed before are still there, but when I click on the icon with the feather quill to compose a new message, the changes are not there.  Any idea why?  It says HTML only at the bottom, so I think I'm in the right editor.  Thanks for your help!

You choose the colour.

I trying The Bat, but I don't see a way to set the default colors of HTML email I compose.  I want all my outgoing emails to have a certain background color, text color.

It's easy to set those colors when composing with the HTML editor, but it seems there should be a way to permanently set them.  I just can't find it after looking for hours.
