download images from sender is planned, but for signed messages only, as we all know, email address can be spurious very easily - if You will allow images from messages of some user and somebody will send You message from such address, images will be received even this is message from different user and different hostnames will be probably included in HTML message.
The point is the convenience. IT is rather troublesome going through the list of server options the URL manager gives. And we do not even know which server is for current mail sometimes.
It should be based in Sender. Download All images for Mails From "X-sender". That's the way it is it Outlook and T-Bird and its quite convenient.
Yes it would. They just introduced this in v4 and it is a "WIP" (work in progress)

Right now the big subject in the beta group is spell checking and that is close to being fixed.

If you check out the link I provided to the TBUDL list there is also one for the beta list. You might consider it.
OK, now *I'm* with *you*. 8) My only problem with this solution is that it requires the user to know more about the image content of emails than many do. For instance, one of my trusted senders uses akamai.net, but so do a lot of the ones I consider spam. I don't always know what a trusted sender is using to serve images. I think an option which allows you to choose email by email -- rather than image server by image server -- would be more useful.

Thanks.
Ok I'm with you. On the preview pane header (where TO: and Subject: are) do you see a globe with a question mark on it? (right side)

If so, click it and "Open URL manager"
When I right click on a message in the preview pane, I get a context menu. The first item at the top is "Message". The second item is "Image" with an arrow pointing right. Moving the cursor to the arrow reveals "Download all images". Selecting that seems to do nothing.
None of them will download unless YOU tell it to do so. While that feature is being worked on and refined, it gives you total control over what you allow and what you deny.
Some emails contain links to images that are not sent with (or attached to) the email.

I think this allows downloading those images. I think this is related to the Download URL Manager.

I have some concerns about this. I don't think older versions would download any images. I have noticed that many of the links to images are embedded with information like the email address. This could be used by spammers to verify that your email address is valid and should be kept on their distribution list.

It would be good to have some configurations to automatically prevent some of those types of links.

It is worth discussing anyway.
