Hello,

====quote====
I have five accounts. they each have an inbox and a trash folder. I have created a filter to have all new messages go into a common folder.
=============
Here is a solution without filters.

For each account:

Account > Properties > Mail management > Deletion > Move to the specified folder.

I think what I will do is set the properties on each trash folder to only keep the messages for a certain number of days. If they seem to get too full, I'll shorten the number of days. That way, TB! will always be clearing them, and I won't have to track them.

I'll see how that works.
8)
The difference between your setup and mine (I think) is that I move ALL messages out of the account folders and into a common inbox and/or other folders. When I delete from one of my extensive common folders it goes right into the common trash folder. Perhaps it is hitting the account trash folder and triggering the filter but for all practical purposes the action is immediate
Okay, I did that. -it is okay to set this up under "Common Filters," correct?

It still did not work for the re-filter! I went back in and looked at each tab on the right. Under Shared With... none of the accounts were selected. So I selected them all.

ok, now works for the "re-filter" option. All emails were moved to the Common trash folder.

However, when I delete an email from an inbox of an account, it just goes to the account trash, and it appears the filter does nothing, i.e. the email stays in the trash.

Do I have to do the process of "re-filter" on each trash to have that filter work? That doesn't do me much good or save time, for I could just go the trash and move them myself.

I must still be missing something? Any ideas?? TIA!

I have the common folder trash.
When I go to Sorting office, I choose Common filters for my account. Next, I don't know where to create the filter? Under which of these:

Incoming Mail
Outgoing Mail
Read Messages
Replied Messages
Selective Download

I tried creating it under "Read Messages," and making it active. I then go to a trash folder and choose "re-filter." it gives me the results:

Messages processed 10
messages filtered 0

The messages remain in the original trash folder.

What am I missing??[B]
Create a common folder called Trash
Then go into the Sorting Office and make a filter with an appropriate name
Under Condition choose SOURCE FOLDER
then pick the trash folders in each account once by one
Under Actions choose Move to the folder and pick the common folder you created
Works like a charm

I have five accounts. they each have an inbox and a trash folder. I have created a filter to have all new messages go into a common folder. But, I can't figure out a filter (or another way) to have any deleted messages (that end up in the account trash folders) moved to the Common Trash folder.

Is there a way to do this? If so, please provide step-by-step, because I have read in other posts "create a filter" - but I don't know how to create this particular filter!! TIA!!
