It straightened itself out the next day. One time TB opened, I could see my messages again.

Yes, I was storing messages in the inbox. I've started to clear them out and move them to other folders. I think I'm down to 2500 now.

Thanks
Create a nw folder in TB
Close TB
Move the messages.tbb file from your inbox to your new folder, delete the matching.tbi file
Open TB

Because all incoming messages will be placed in the inbox (whether you filter them automatically or not) the inbox is a bit vulnerable. So it's possible that you can access the messages in another folder.

Did you store messages in your inbox before this problem started?

help requested - endless loop

help requested - endless loop about to reach 2Gb in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
I have got a problem with TBPro 4018 on XP.
On starting TB I got a warning window that says:
The size of the folder "inbox" is about to reach 2Gb.
Please consider distributing the messages from "inbox" to various smaller folders and compress the folder.

I clicked the ok button. My inbox now shows Zero messages in the "inbox" folder.

If I go into Folder\Maintenance Center\Integrity and run it on my "inbox" folder it says:
Folder is not repaired. Cannot open message base file.

I get multiple instances of the warning window, but now there are no messages to move from my now empty folder "inbox".

Is there a method/suggestions to get out of this loop? TIA Doug
