I was told by an old time when I asked that the address book won't run stand alone

What you CAN do is go to OPTIONS / PREFERENCES / GENERAL and put a check in "always show icon in the system tray"

Then minimize the bat and right click the icon and the address book is available.  8)

I would like to load my address book in a stand alone mode as can be done with the windows address book or Thunderbird (with the -addressbook command line)

I use it as my main address book and would like to be able to call it up for use in other applications

Is there a way like THEBAT.EXE -MYbook.ABD ?
