You can pick that setting in the editor window:
Spell Checker -> Automatic Checking
This will check while you're writing
Spell Checker -> check before send/queue
This will check before sending.

Hi,

I see that "the bat" has spell checking. Isn't there a way to have it automatically check spelling when you click send instead of manually clicking the spel check in the tool bar?

Outlook and express check automatically. I would think the Bate does too.
