it will stay on server until The Bat! will connect to it and check, what messages are stored and how many days should be message stored on server. So if You will connect 00:05, yes, it will be stored on server for 1 hour and 5 minutes

====quote====
Marek Mikus writes:
if You set "0", only todays messages will stay on server
=============

Thanks for your help Marek.

OK, let's see if I can make sense of this.
Setting it to "0" means only today's messages stay on the server. Would that mean if it is 23:00 and you receive a new message, it will only be on the server for one hour?

Would "keeping messages on the server for 1 day" mean that a new message received at 23:00 May 28, 2008 would remain on the server until 23:00 May 29, 2008?

TIA

====quote====
bigg one writes:
...
It's hard for me to imagine why you may need to keep messages on server for 20 minutes,
=============

Well basically for the situation that just happened where I had my settings to delete messages that were downloaded and not to download messages greater than 100K.
One message said, you just received an e-mail greater than 100K and it has been deleted!
So I'm thinking if the messages can stay on the server for 20 minutes it would give me time to log into the server on the web and check the message.

====quote====
but try this: - in the account properties, set messages to be kept on server for 1 day. - create a filter for incoming messages, with a condition "any message" and action "delete message from server". Put this filter on top, and set "Continue processing with other filters" (if there are other filters)...
=============

Sounds cool, I'll try it, thanks very much!

try it, if when set to 0 days messages are not deleted immediately, then there is some difference. I think both are equivalent.

It's hard for me to imagine why you may need to keep messages on server for 20 minutes, but try this:
- in the account properties, set messages to be kept on server for 1 day.
- create a filter for incoming messages, with a condition "any message" and action "delete message from server". Put this filter on top, and set "Continue processing with other filters" (if there are other filters).
Now each message you retrieve will be marked for deletion from server, but will be actually deleted the next time you connect to retrieve messages. So if you connect every 20 minutes, messages will stay 20 minutes.
What's the difference between keeping messages on server for 0 days and Deleting received messages from server?

Also, I was hoping to find a setting to keep message on the server for 20 minutes or something like that after they are downloaded.
