Why is the Bat not so known ?

Why is the Bat not so known ? in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
the target group of theBat are more advanced home users and probably some small businesses. Among them, I would say it's popular enough.
TheBat is no doubt the most powerful pop3 client, but most people just don't need that power. For those who deal with a couple of mails daily, OE or Thunderbird are OK - and free, not to forget. Sort of the same is Outlook which, although not free, is included in all MS Office editions (if I'm not wrong). So most people simply don't care about other mail clients - only those with some specific needs do.
I would say it's one of the most popular paid clients.

Indeed Ritlabs can do a lot to make it more popular - for instance by releasing a free 'lite' version which can be used indefinitely as long as only one account for a free mail service (like Gmail) is configured. This way it could get some market share from OE / Thunderbird and become far more popular, eventually even entering the corporate market after some time.
