Back to Outlook 2007? What?!

Back to Outlook 2007? What?! Sadness on my departure in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Extensive disappointment in the developer. Most long term "the bat" users are loyal beyond brand name, and were enticed by its cutting edge features and flexibility.

That's the point. It is a warning that they are falling behind, one user's story, and I'm afraid more to follow.
I really can't see the purpose of the previous message.

If it's just trying to be a story of one individual's choice of moving from The Bat! to Outlook, then why is it here? (referring to the name of the forum).

If it's purpose is to make wishes or suggestions of new features of The Bat!, why does the author simply say so and list the features he would like to see in The Bat! ???

If it's purpose is to report bugs, or search solutions to configuring problems (the purpose of this forum: configuring of The Bat!) this message is not doing it properly.

Sorry, but to me this previous post sounds like a bad soap opera.

>Really, save me! I want to be saved..
We can't save you, this forum is for the other the Bat! users primarily. If you want to be "saved", why don't you turn to the Bat! authors.
But if i were you, even then i would be a bit more constructive, to get my message through.

Back to Outlook 2007? What?! Sadness on my departure in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
A Bat user since 1.62, and someone who has spent money on every upgrade, I have finally had to take my six figure's worth of e-mails and move to Outlook 2007 (whose unicode PSTs can now go up 20GB).

Can it handle the large volume of mail that The Bat! users lover to accumulate?
Finally, yes.

What about templates?
You can't compare the flexibility and power and appeal of the Bat templates and macros to a majority of users to Outlook's templates. It's an unfair fight, and the bat beats outlook to a pulp.

Is it as fast as the bat?
No, but a lot faster than it used to be.

Is it less buggy than the bat?
Depends on what features you are using, but if it is, by only a hair (on my system)

Does it have IMAP/Echange Support?
Yes! And it lets me handle my calendaring and tasks and contact management!

Does it synch with programs that let you enter in details of mail, address, and contacts once in one place?
Yes! Yes! YES!

Does it have that great address lookup tab?
Nope. Really going to miss that.

Is instant search better or faster than the bat's?
Nowadays, it is close.

Is it as safe as the bat!?
Not by a long shot.

Built in ability to find duplicates?
Only if you call an eyeball scan of the folder "built-in"

What about inserting random cookies?
It can, if you find the right add in, but it is just a shadow of the flexibility that you have with the bat!

I hate microsoft and outlook especially. Window's mail too, though I think it is loads better than Outlook Express (I'm on Vista).

But at the end of the day, I got tired of tracking everything in different places, using outlook for work, home contacts and mail in the bat, and nothing from there on my sidekick or blackberry so I had to reenter my phone numbers, no official plugins for dekstop search engines, or synchronization tools, etc. I needed something to help me UNIFY my communication tasks, and I kept on waiting for Ritlabs to come through. Barca looked like a possibility... but anyway. The Bat always led the way before and everyone else followed. It was easy to ignore buggy code in those circumstances. No longer. I'm busy and I need software that will help me save some time.

I will be eagerly waiting to move back, I will keep an eye on the latest major releases, looking for an excuse to jump away from Microsoft Outlook. When the leader of e-mail communication realizes that e-mail is now more than just e-mail, I will be back.

Really, save me! I want to be saved... But continuing to use the bat as it is just left me seeing what was missing.
