locate the physical folder that corresponds to the one reported to be faulty (physical folder structure under the mail folder matches exactly the account folder structure you see in the program). Move all the files inside that folder to some other place, then start theBat.
If this doesn't help, move all the files/folders inside the mail folder to another place.
If this doesn't help, it's not a problem with message bases but something else.
Make sure you have write access for the mail folder and everything below it, that there are no read-only files/folders inside etc, that there is some free space on that partition (or check if quotas are enabled and yours is exceeded).
Of course first disable AV & firewall as Roelof suggested. Also try starting theBat in safe mode.
Hi Roelof
I'm on windows XP and whatever the latest version of TB is, I downloaded a new version in April but I think it has upgraded itself since then.
I'm using BitDefender although I might get rid of that, it's doing some strange things lately.
Didn't change anything, TB did a backup the day before and said one of my folders was faulty, I didn't manage to fix it before it stopped working. Not sure where I can check my message base size.

Cheers
Anya
What version are you using for TB and Windows?
What virus scanner and firewall? Does the problem persist when you disable virus scanner and firewall?

Did you change anything to your configuration either of TB or the rest of your system just before the problem started?

How old is your most recent backup for TB?
What's the size of your message base?
Hi Guys
Had the Bat for months but this afternoon it's stopped working.
Every time I try to launch it, the opening screen just flickers on then off again for less than a second and nothing else happens.
Have rebooted, reinstalled, done an antivirus check, can't think of anything else to do.
Would be grateful for any help, thanks!
