Hello,

Alternatively, with some mail addresses you can redirect messages to another address.

I have several addresses but only one account in TB which receives all my messages.
TB's whole setup is rather account oriented, filters are account specific etc. It's been a while since I've used Forte Agent, but at that time it didn't compare to TB's options.

But what you could do is this:
Create a couple of common filters that drop all of your mail either in one account or in a set of common folders (I'd prefer the latter)
When you create new messages you can pick the account you want to use from the status bar of the editor.

You can fold the accounts that you don't use, so that they hardly use any real estate on your monitor.
@Roelof, Regarding the forum.. it seems it doesn't matter what you change the name/nick to, the posts are still using the name current at the time of posting, or it ignores changes altogether..
Oh, but I found a way to get it to show the nick.. I had to dump the old account as the changes didn't "take" though..

@Lord, well the 6 static folders per account is probably fine and dandy when you have 1 or 2 (i.e 6 or 12 folders) accounts... but it becomes a serious mess when you have more than that.
In my case I currently have 7 different adresses, so thats 7*6 (42) folders before doing anything other than adding the addresses.

To compare, in FA4 all messages goes into a single set of folders (similar to the default 6 in TB),
Changing the sender address/account in a reply/new message is as simple as selecting the one you want from a combobox.
Why don't you just use multiple accounts for different POP3 accounts?

Keeps all the different emails neatly in different locations..

Works well.
I've notified the FAQ maintainer, so one of these days that item will be updated. Unless real life interferes, of course.

Not only can that FAQ be reached via the Ritlabs site, but also via TB's menu: Help -> FAQ
And it is the official FAQ, even though it's not maintained by Ritlabs.

Can't help you with the forum issue though, sorry. Maye you could try to modify your registered first and last name.
@Roelof, Ok.. sad to hear.. I would've hoped that TB managed to keep up with Forte Agent 4 (which purpose isn't even email, and this isn't a new feature) et al.

The FAQ could've fooled me. Apparently the FAQ isn't on their main domain, but it seems very official:

Check out the link with the text:
"Official The Bat! User's FAQ (also available as a PDF version)" at the <noindex>Ritlabs Support Page</noindex>

The target of those links leads to the same faq I mentioned above.

I just noticed the forum keeps posting the full name instead of the nick, despite the option being unchecked in the profile.. Annoying..

The FAQ isn't an official Ritlabs platform and apparently Marck expected that feature in v2 and it slipped through his corrections.
AFAIK Ritlabs isnm't planning support for multiple pop servers per account.
According to the FAQ this was apparently to be supported with TB v2.. and now we're at TB 4?

I find it seriously annoying to have many accounts with 4+ folders in each, just because I have a few different addresses to retrieve mail for (and sometimes post with)..

PS! I'd prefer to link to the correct FAQ, but the thing doesn't show a proper webadress, only the url: <noindex>http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/manage.html</noindex> for all entries.
