Thanks. Concerning the sent files perhaps they are stored on the HD. If I go to the files explorer I can see a "sent" folder with the two classic files I had while using Pop3 in the past: message.tbb (80 megs) + message.tbi

So I suppose that they are saved on the HD, isn't it?
I also have an Outbox folder, a junk folder and a trash folder.

But despite POP3, there is no Inbox folder for incoming mails. Everything seems to be stored at the root of the account. And here there are some strange things. I can see very large and regularly updated files:

- 17533B99.BK1  630 megs!
- part0003.bin  610 megs!
- 22E38D5D.TBB  520  megs!
- 17533B99.BK0  260 megs
- part0002.bin  230 megs
- 2AD321E8.TBB  120 megs
- etc etc

I have more than 2.5 gigas of data for my incoming mails with IMAP and mails are even not saved on my hard disk?

There is something wrong I suppose.

I think the sent folder is stored server side. But that's easy to check, send a message from system one and check whether you encounter it in sent mail on system two.

Locally storing incoming mail with filters can be done in several ways. Presuming that you want to store them locally on the same system while you're reading them from differen systems that means that you've got to filter manually and that you've got to tag the filtered messages to prevent duplicates in your local mirror. That tagging can be done by flagging the filtered messages or by moving them to a different folder with the same filter that also copies them them outside of your account.

The whole idea of imap is that you don't store it locally, therefore it can't be done without use of filters on imap accounts.
However, gmail offers the option to access an account both via imap and pop3, you could configure one of your PCs to access the gmail account via pop3. Don't access it via pop3 from multiple systems, because one of gmail's peculiarities is that you can't access the same message twice via pop3.
I've never tried alternating imap and pop3 access from gmail, but I did so with another server (back when I was dabbling with imap) so I know that the protocols can be used on the same account, but I don't know gmail how gmail reacts to that.

'courier imap server compatibility mode' is exactly what it says: an imap mode that's compatible with the way imap is implemented with a courier server.

'auto-filtering' as I said, it's been a while since I played with imap, so I'm not sure about this one. But the idea of imap is that your mail is accessible on multiple systems and is treated the same way no matter where you read it and what client you're using. Therefore the best way to filter your stuff is to use server side filtering (a filter is run on the server as soon as the message is received) with 'auto filtering' enable you use TB's filters.
Having said that, it isn't unlikely that when you filter a message from the inbox to another filter,  it can't be accessed via pop3 anymore.

Hello,

I use the Bat with IMAP on various computers(the mail provider is gmail).

I would like to automatically download the mails locally on my hard disk at least with one PC (but without creating filters if it's possible).

The problem with IMAP is that mails are never saved on your PC like with POP3.

How can I do that?

I tried to select this option:
"retrieve message structures together with message header"

But it doesn't seems to download automically all the incoming mails on my HD.

I am sure that you should have an option for that.

BTW, could you explain me the use of these 2 other IMAP options:

- courier imap server compatibility mode
- auto-filtering
