Common Folders Problem No counts displayed for common folders... in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
The answer to your question is, no, I could not see counts for new common folders.
But I've sorted it.
I deleted the ACCOUNT.CFN file in the main APPLICATION DATA\THE BAT!\ directory (not those of the individual email accounts).
This I did in deperation, as I'd tried everything else.
When I ran the prog again, the file was recreated and now it all works as it should.
Until the next problem...
Thanks for your help.
I'm really considering switching to another client program.

hmm..strange. Never happened to me.
Try Folder -> Maintenance center, tick all except 'Purge..'.
Backup physical folders first.

Do you see msg count for newly created common folders?
If yes, you may create a new common folder, move all msgs old->new, delete old, rename new as old.
Thanks Bigg One. I tried both your suggestions; but neither worked...
I think I'll just give up and switch programs.
try to close theBat then rename messages.tbi files in common folders to something else like messages.tbibak
Then start theBat

Or delete a common folder from theBat, choose to leave the message base. Then create a common folder with the same name.

It's a good idea to archive the entire mail folder before starting.
Can anyone suggest a solution?
Suddenly (and for no apparent reason) my common folders show no counts, neither un read nor totals... The folders in my accounts all display this info perfectly.
Of course ritlab staff are next to useless - the last reply to me said that they were 'sorry'...
It's unbelievable they way their paying customers are treated. If anyone's sorry, it's me, that I bought the program.
Before I finally opt out for good, I repeat, can anyone suggest a reason or solution??
Thanks,
Stephen
