Spyware Doctor & Antivirus Configuring Spyware Doctor in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Sure, before posting this glitch on the Bat forum, PCTOOLS was informed about this and they are looking into it.

There is no error with the pop3 or smtp as I am able to send messages, all of which are also marked as having being checked by Spyware Doctor and Antivirus.

Thanks for the advise about the virulent attachment.

you should probably direct your wishes to Spyware Doctor & Anti virus developers.
No matter it doesn't integrate with theBat, it should be able to check pop3/smtp traffic.

BTW using antivirus/antispyware etc. tools with theBat is mostly useless, as theBat is malware-safe. You can never get infected by simply receiving an email containing malware, it's absolutely safe to have thousands of viruses in your message bases.
What's dangerous is to run an infected attachment, but theBat will never do that by itself.
Just make sure to filter/delete messages with potentially unsafe attachments, and you don't need whatever antivirus plugins.
this depends on antivirus vendor, plugin for The Bat! is included in AVG, Avast, Kaspersky and plugins for FPROT and CLAM AV are distributed separately.

Antivirus API documentation is available here:
<noindex>http://www.ritlabs.com/en/products/thebat/download.php</noindex>
We use The Bat email client. Earlier, it worked well with avast. However, since the time we installed Spyware Doctor and Antivirus, we are unable to "Check for Virus" from the folder option. This options shows up unchecked.

Any plug ins available?
