A McAfee software update has been automatically installed on my computer and The Bat! is now working properly on my computer again. I hope you all can now use the excellent Bat without problems again.
Yes I had the same thing when starting TB late last evening.

Spent several hours with McAfee online chat support today but they could not rectify; I had to give up.

You can sometimes get TB running again if you disable everything in McAfee, then do a Bat re-install. I did this to make an up to date backup of the data. Obviously you cannot go online whilst doing this

I have had to resort to Windows Mail for the moment, in the hope for an update that will no longer regard the exe file as a virus. I have also been considering uninstalling McAfee and using another security suite.

Peter
I wasn't aware of tbudl, so many thanks for this hint. I guess all I'll need to is to be patient and wait for McAfee to rectify their virus definitions...
Heard similar stories on tbudl. The new update of mcafee is giving false positives again.
When I started my computer this morning, The BAT shortcut was no longer working. I tried to repair The Bat via the installation programme but the repair failed. While doing so, a window popped up, alerting me that McAfee has detected and blocked a virus: W32/IRCbot.gen.z bat

Does anybody else experience the same problem? I did a quick search on the internet and came across postings describing that McAfee has found the same virus in the "Spotify" programme, disabling it too. Thanks for any feedback.
