Multiple version of The Bat accessing 1 email account

Multiple version of The Bat accessing 1 email account in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Actually, adding the "recent:" prefix will, each time, fetch "all" messages received during the last thirty days (and no messages from the Spam folder) as many times and from as many different E-Mail clients as you care to use.

Don't forget that The Bat! keeps track of all messages previously fetched (unless the mail server changes the message's UIDL).

By the way, there is always IMAP.

--
Juju
All "recent:" will do is bring ALL the mail. If you haven't used it yet clear out your spam and sent box or you will be downloading a LOT of mail

Decide what you want to do - do you want just one machine to delete the message from GMAIL and the other to download them all but leave them on the server? Whatever - go to the web interface and FORWARDING AND POP/IMAP and tell it to leave a copy in the inbox

That will leave mail available for each machine to read BUT ... mail is going to build up quickly

You might consider opening another Gmail account for the 2nd machine and have the first account send a copy of everything to the 2nd
What about using recent:username@gmail.com on both computers?
Why is that? With my gmail account I can currently receive emails on my cell phone, and the same emails on my computer as well.
With normal pop3 accounts that's possible, but not with gmail.
Is it possible to have The Bat! installed on 2 computers, have each one access the same Gmail account, and have all new messages show up on each computer without doing any kind of special syncing?

Thanks
