Vanishing attachments Don't show up in mail in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
Sorry, should have put it clearer:
The amount of text in source view is about 5K.

If I forward that 130K mail to my other e-mail address, the received message is 10.7K long.

Other recipients of the same e-mail had no problems displaying the attachment.
you mean that if you sel ect a message that's 130 K acc. to theBat and click Message / SaveAs, that produces a 5 K file?
The same is to select all & copy fr om message source window and paste in notepad and save - you get 5 K?
If so it's probably a bug.
bigg one,
Thanks for responding.
Attachments are stored with the messages (not separately).
The Bat! is set to display HTML mails in "Plain text version and HTML".
The message described below (an HTML message) is over 130k according to The Bat!.
No attachment icon shown for it, attachment pane not hidden -- attachments in other mails show up correctly.
I experience this behavior since updating to the latest version.
I have checked since my first post, and found that in fact some attachments of past mails that showed correctly in the earlier version don't display now.

Message source  (relevant parts only):

Accept-Language: en-US
Content-Language: en-US
X-MS-Has-Attach: yes
X-Message-Flag: Follow up
X-MS-TNEF-Correlator:
acceptlanguage: en-US
Content-Type: multipart/mixed;
       boundary="_004_AD75107ECAEC4949991FB357E775D5C544B96C84orsmsx502amrcor_"
MIME-Version: 1.0

--_004_AD75107ECAEC4949991FB357E775D5C544B96C84orsmsx502amrcor_
Content-Type: multipart/alt ernative;
       boundary="_000_AD75107ECAEC4949991FB357E775D5C544B96C84orsmsx502amrcor_"

--_000_AD75107ECAEC4949991FB357E775D5C544B96C84orsmsx502amrcor_
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

Hi everyone,
[ *** rest of text part follows *** ]

--_000_AD75107ECAEC4949991FB357E775D5C544B96C84orsmsx502amrcor_
Content-Type: text/html; charset="us-ascii"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

<ht ml xmlns:v=3D"urn:s chemas-microsoft-com:vml" xmlns:o=3D"urn:schemas-m=
icrosoft-com:office:office" xmlns:w=3D"urn:s chemas-microsoft-com:office:=
word" xmlns:x=3D"urn:s chemas-microsoft-com:office:excel"
[ *** and a lot of other XML namespace declarations follow *** ]

[ *** HTML part follows ***]

--_000_AD75107ECAEC4949991FB357E775D5C544B96C84orsmsx502amrcor_--

--_004_AD75107ECAEC4949991FB357E775D5C544B96C84orsmsx502amrcor_--

[*** End of message ***]

This amount of text is about 5 kilobytes, so where are the other 125k (the attachment) lurking?

====quote====
You may ask your client
=============
I did, but I'd like to find the cause -- something is not OK here.
do you keep attachments in messages (I think the default) or separately in some folder?
If the latter, do you see files in that folder? Or maybe it doesn't exist?

You may look in the message source (F9) to see if there is an attachment included. Is there an attachment icon in the message list? - maybe attachment pane is just hidden (View -> Attached files -> ..).

You may ask your client to send a BCC to some gmail/yahoo etc. account so that you can compare. Some dummy/misconfigured apps may drop a shortcut to the file after drag/drop instead of attaching the file.

Vanishing attachments Don't show up in mail in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
I installed The Bat! Professional v4.2.10.1 after a total uninstall of the previous version (running XP Pro SP3 32-bit Eng).
After restoring my mailboxes, I saw plain-loking mails that I thought should have had attachments, but I wasn't sure.
Now for the second time and from different senders, I have received mails with attachments, but the attachments don't show in the mail.
I know they should be present because (a) the sender said so and (2) the mail size is large for a plain message.

Anybody experienced this?

Thanks.

Edit:
The client just told me she uses Lotus Notes and had dragged and dropped the attachment in Lotus Notes.
Does that help?
