Custom header (X-Face and Face)

Custom header (X-Face and Face) in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
I haven't come across a Face plugin for TB. It has its own (equally non-RFC compliant) X-Rogue header for this purpose and a Rogues gallery from which real photo images are available for download.

Using the %SetHeader function, you could easily implement and outbound "Face" header yourself.

Interpretation of incoming Face headers will have to wait for a kind developer to implement a plugin for the job.

TB has another method for displaying faces relating to emails - you can attach a photo or avatar or icon to an address book entry for a contact and TB will show this in the message headers for messages from this contact.

This is a massively better way of doing it.
o Face data is not bloating out headers
o You get to see faces of people who don't use face headers
o You have control over whose faces you do and don't see

Since the "Face" header is non-RFC and non-ratified, it should perhaps have chosen an X- prefix like its X-Face predecessor - like "X-Image". That might have made it more popular in terms of wider support and acceptance.

Custom header (X-Face and Face)

Thanx for your answer. One more question: and what about 'Face'? I know that X-Face is black and white, but there is 'Face' header also, what about that? Is there a possibility to display that too or only 'X-Face'? I used to use Claws-mail till now and it has feature to display in first: 'Face' and then 'X-Face' in case 'Face' doesn't exist. I like this enhancement and that's why i'm asking about this.
It is possible to add any header field, including X-Face.

There is a plugin available to support the x-face header available from the
<noindex>X-Face Plugin Web Page</noindex>. The example on that page shows an old preferences dialog box image, but the options it shows still exist under the "View / Editor" preferences.
