Invalid pointer operation in forum The Bat! - Configuring the E-mail Client.
This problem has been happening with every version of the bat. At least 10 years. It seems a bit more common these days.. I have 10 users and it happens to all of us. Just get used to it. It makes no difference if you complain to Ritlabs.. They cannot fix it, or at least they could not be bothered. I have offered to give them remote access to my computer when there is a crash and they have not taken me up on it.
I've been using TB for the last 5 years and am now using the latest version. I've always installed updates whenever they became available and have seen this problem fairly often on every version of TB and every computer I've used it on. I have one computer that only monitors my email server for new emails and is not used for anything else, yet it gets the "invalid pointer operation" popup just like on the computer where I actively use TB and many other applications. Luckily it doesn't ever crash TB or seem to cause any problems, so I just ignore it as a minor annoyance.
Hi,

I often have an error message with "Invalid pointer operation". Any idea? (TB Pro 4.2.23)

I noticed a lot of messages like that on the bat error log:

Date: 19 Feb 2010 10:02:13
OS: Windows Vista build 7600
PhysMemFreeTotal: 3941/4095 MB
VirtMemFreeTotal: 1845/2047 MB
Address: 00404BAD
ClassName: EInvalidPointer
Message: Invalid pointer operation
IsOSException: 0
Modules:
00400000 20100123002626 C:\Program Files (x86)\The Bat!\thebat.exe
Stack:
00404BAD [00400000]
00404BA8 [00400000]
0040313E [00400000]
00404BA8 [00400000]
00404F9E [00400000]
00B9D015 [00400000]
00404BF0 [00400000]
00443438 [00400000]
00B8FDB4 [00400000]
00B8D7D5 [00400000]
00404BF0 [00400000]
00443438 [00400000]
009FE83D [00400000]
00404BF0 [00400000]
00443438 [00400000]
00A0998B [00400000]
008D01C9 [00400000]
0046F070 [00400000]
0054CEBD [00400000]
0054CEF6 [00400000]
0054D14E [00400000]
00C8892D [00400000]
00C8D16A [00400000]
00C94F94 [00400000]
--------------------------------
